A Nerdy Photo Essay

I’ve been collecting toys for as long as I can remember. What I love about these toys are the precision to scale and detail. It’s like every one that was ever made was created by an army of Lucas disciples who dearly loved the movies and manufactured the toys in worship.
Toy collecting is all about the hunt. I buy nothing online anymore as half the fun is finding it myself as I roam the earth in a lifestyle of mystery and grace. I have found these toys as far away as Stockholm, Copenhagen, Australia, the US and, to my delight, in Victoria, B.C.
I love to take portraits of them at night using my Sony Cybershot 6.0. I take most of my shots under a full moon or when the light is epic. What I am trying to do through my photography is capture the spirit of every toy I have.
I want every portrait to tell a story.
